Another trip driven by the need for Susan to get a new Russian visa. This time we decided to combine it with a real vacation in honor of our 16th wedding anniversary. In Paris we stayed with our friend Madeleine, her husband Jean, and their daughter, Isaure. We also visited three wonderful towns in Normandy. The weather wasn't on our side, but it was a memorable trip none-the-less.

The Allies took the town on D-Day plus one, June 7, 1944. <br />
<br />
It was the first town liberated, and the first to greet General de Gaulle on his return to France on June 14, 1944.
