Egypt (02.2006)

This was a five day quickie trip to Egypt necessitated by the fact that Susan had to leave the country to comply with Russia's visa requirements. Egypt seemed like a pretty good choice for February, especially since there are cheap charters out of Moscow. Five days for $500 including airfare, hotel, breakfast & dinner. Can't beat that. We stayed in Hurghada on the Red Sea and did a day trip to Luxor. It's a five hour flight from Moscow and though it was chillier than we expected it was nice to see the sun - something sorely lacking during Moscow's winters.

  • Guess it wouldn’t be Egypt without belly dancing and you really do need a belly!
  • Hurghada’s only been developed as a Red Sea resort in the past 20 years. Mostly tourist shops selling kitsch, but I made a friend.
