Nenets yurt (tent) & reindeer. (4.16.2012)
Not a new shot, but one we just learned is to be included in an exhibit on prehistory at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences' Museum. The exhibit's scheduled to run from October 16th of this year through May 26, 2013. Of course, October's a long way off & things can change, but... May just have to schedule a trip to Brussels...
On another note, the thumbs downer has been so active recently that I'm going to take a break from the Dailies - it just isn't very enjoyable of late. I looked at the top 30 shots from yesterday when I had a moment Moscow morning time today. The shots with the most comments were Papa's & Billie's each with 34 comments. Papa's was in 6th position; Billie's in 17th. Next up with quantity of comments were Paul B. (Jr.), Paula B., Webstersway & my egg shot - each with 31 comments - position of these shots? 5th, 2nd, 1st & 26th respectively. Someone really disliked my egg shot, that's for sure. This person was at it again this A.M. downing Indigo's shot within minutes of it coming up.
Thanks to those of you who've been supportive & many of you for your friendship. We may be back, but it's time for a break. Happy shooting.

on May 4, 2012This shot is fabulous! I love your processing and there is so much to see. I can see why they would want to include it in a museum exhibit. It really looks like an image from a different time..incredible that you see this kind of world. Love the travels you take us on!
I know you are now back on The Dailies...it is hard to understand why someone would do the 'thumbs down' thing. Such a shame and it really has brought a lot of people to the decision to leave. I'm glad that the thumbs are gone, but I am concerned that all these galleries of images are now open to downloading..that is worse news to me. Not sure if I will stay connected or not....I do love being connected to this great community and miss the inspiration when I am away for too long.

on April 17, 2012Fabulous shot. I will miss you here. I was very grateful that you rescued my image this morning. Because of the thumb downer, I made the choice to be here for myself only. I came here to challenge myself to post daily and develop my skills--the social aspect came in 2nd. Yes, I love to read the comments. I love to see what others are doing. I love to see my images make it to the first page. And I am frustrated by the inequality that whoever is doing the thumbs down creates. I think it isn't just one person. I think guests may cause some of the problem by not understanding the system, but I also feel there are others who have no life that do understand the system who are doing this. I've considered leaving, too. But then they win. I decided to heck with them. The fact they see me and you and others as a threat, only serves to validate that I produce great images.
