Project RuSu 365

Not always so successful or interesting, & not always daily, though certainly a reflection of our daily lives - more like pick of the day. Our goal - to share our world and improve our skills. Thanks to all the members of the SmugMug Daily Community for your support and input. Feel free to leave feedback by clicking on 'Add Comment' below. We look forward to hearing your thoughts. The photo of the day will always be in first position. Thank you for looking. - Rustem Safronov & Susan Gilman a.k.a. RuSu. This gallery was started on October 26, 2010.

Beef isn't very good here, so if you want something chewable, pot roast it is. I'm not a pot roast lover, but Rustem likes it - says it reminds him of kindergarten food - exactly why I dislike it. I'm a carnivore, however, so do make the occasional pot roast. Here's one about to go into the oven. Back to the States next month where my diet will consist of steak, steak & more steak.

  • Remaining barracks at the Perm 36 Gulag. (RS)

One of the USSR's harshest Gulag camps, Perm 36 is located about 100 kilometers from the city of Perm in the Ural Mountains. Built in 1946, this camp, and others in the region, housed about 150,000 prisoners, approximately one-third of the working population of the region. This barracks housed 250 men, mostly political prisoners.

The camp was closed in 1987 and is now a memorial to Gulag victims.
Thanks for all your comments on the pot roast - guess, a lot of people really like pot roast :-) Have a great Sunday.

You should try the beef in Panama. Same story, so try a slow cooker and let it ride for hours........ eventually it will be soft and palatable.

Great shot!!!! I'm a steak girl too, and living in Texas it makes it pretty easy to get great steak. Enjoyed the commentary on this shot. Have a great evening & thanks for your kind comments on my work.

Excellent capture! Your motive must have been to make me hungry. Properly seared ready for the oven. I could eat pot roast every day if I ignored my conscience.
