The golden domes are those of the Kazan Cathedral on Red Square. Originally built in 1612, the cathedral was destroyed by Stalin in 1936 and rebuilt in 1993. The mansard tiled roof was the Central Lenin Museum, shut down by a Yeltsin decree in 1993. The rear rooftop is that of the newly redone Hotel Moskva, an example of classic Stalinist architecture.
